New Resource - Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) - A Guide for Parents and Carers

The Welsh Government and Barnardo's Cymru have created a guide for parents and carers providing Care, Support and Protection to children at risk of or who have been harmed by CSE.  The guide covers what CSE is and how to identify and report CSE, ways of preventing CSE and the impact and recovery.

Child Sexual Abuse Investigations - A Guide for Parents and Carers

Stop it Now Cymru & The Lucy Faithful Foundation developed a guide, launched in February 2021 highlighting information about Child Sexual Abuse investigations includes links to information on supporting children, the process surrounding medical examinations, and prosecution, including where the Police or Crown Prosecution Service decide not to proceed.

Keeping Children Safe from Sexual Exploitation - Easy Read Version

The Welsh Government has created an Easy Read Guide for practitioners and young people highlighting how the Welsh Government aims to keep young people safe from child sexual exploitation using the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014. Working Together to Safeguard People. Volume 7 - Safeguarding Children from Child Sexual Exploitation.

Guide for Practitioners, Parent's/Carer's and Educational Facilities on Harmful Sexual Behaviours

Barnardo's Cymru were commissioned to develop an online learning session on Harmful Sexual Behaviours and produced guides covering HSB, CSE and Peer Sexual Abuse for practitioners, parent/carer's and educational facilities. Barnardo's Cymru partnered with Better Futures Cymru, who provides assessment and longer term therapeutic intervention services for children and young people with sexualised histories across Wales.

Resources to support Safeguarding Practice with Young People

Fr Sophie Hallett, Social Policy Advocate/Research from Cardiff University has developed online learning sessions and resources on safeguarding young people from SCE and related safeguarding issues such as Child Criminal Exploitation, trafficking and going missing.
